One of the local Seaside Reef groms making a big name for himself is Jake Marshall.
Jake is "Grom of the Week" on the Mundo-Rad site and is featured on the NSSA site as well.

The photos from the '08 Rip Curl Grom Search Finals run the gamut from early morning clouds, to rain, to perfect light, to back-light.
One thing was consistent throughout though; the kids were SHREDDING.
Some of the best shots of the year for sure.

The NBL chose this shot of Stumpy I got at the NBL Grands for the cover of the October issue of the BMX Today mag.
I'm psyched that they chose a shot of Stumpy. One of the most consistent winners, this year's Champion (his second title) and all around total class act!

The first WSA Prime contest got underway to some great waves, but challenging fog and lighting conditions.

The new WSA Prime season is set to kick off this weekend at DMJ's. I'm STOKED to be a part of it as the official photographer.
It's looking like an off-the-hook weekend! Check out part of the press release from Greg Cruse:
"... Head Judge, Craig Hoshide, has a world class panel of ASP judges put together. We will also employ a spotter on both days. US Surf Team coach Joey Buran and Assistant Coach Sean Mattison will be on hand both days. Dave Stanfield will be announcing the first event. BeachByte will be providing computer scoring. Jack McDaniel will be the official photographer. Fuel TV will be on hand shooting for "The Weekly Update". Surfline and TransWorld Surf will be covering the event for their websites and magazine. We will have our thermal, fleece-lined competitor sweatshirts available. Marc Spitaleri and Peter Townend of Victory Tropiskin have generously donated the contest jerseys. We think you will really be stoked with the custom trophies we had made! As you've also probably noticed from the new header graphic, I've put together a site that will have athlete's bios, photos, news, video, etc. from the events.
This is going to be a GREAT series!!

gOrk wanted this shot of Ant I had from NBL Grands for a new ad. I'm stoked that they're featuring Ant; he and his dad are GREAT people and the grom deserves the props for sure!

As with pretty much every single acton sport, the mini-groms are simply taking it to another level. Kids as young as 8 (Tyler Gunter) at the Surfing America USA Champtionships were going OFF Saturday.
In the shot above, 11 y/o Brogie Panesi throws tail during the 12 and under Semi-Finals.

I'm not sure if it's been "Officially" announced; It's all over the boards though. Donny "dR" Robinson is going to get the third and final spot on the US Olympic BMX race team.
dR has seen it all. From super-grom under the legendary "Big E" tutelage to having some of the largest corporate sponsors ever seen in BMX - he's been there / done that.
Donny is the epitome of "Heart". I cannot wait to see how he does in Beijing!!!

We got lucky again for the NSSA comp at Seaside. The weather was incredible and the waves EPIC for Seaside.

Got an email from Sebastian K. at Mundo Rad saying that they've just added an exciting user community to their web site.
User community based websites are all the rage now. While some may think it's over-kill to add even more, each serves their own purpose.
